I live in the big city and the water here is safe, too.  I think Grecia, San Jose, Cartago, Jaco...  Any place with some population or along the Pan American Highway is probably OK, but there are some rural locations where I think I might opt for bottled water.

$7.50 for just one month?  Were you paying late and charged a late fee?  I think I would call AyA and ask them to send a meter verification team to your house.  Mine has never been over 3000 colones (about $6.00).</description>
